What is Port BBQ? or was it Pork BBQ? If it is the latter then my wife will swear by the BBQ from the Beach House (Sunken Garden, UP Diliman).

Half-vote to McDo for the fries but lately I am hooked on the thick-cut french fries from KFC. The fries from Brother’s Burger is also a good treat (but rather too pricey for my taste).

I dont know what category Dampa-style of restaurants fall in but I would recommend the Seafood market at the Home Depot along Julia Vargas ave, in Ortigas. More bang for your buck if this type of eateries are your thing.

    ciao!

Hey Erin - thanks for the noticing the typo (I corrected it already).

I haven’t tried the BBQ in UP but Im all for BBQ. :) I also agree about seafood markets and aside from Dampa, yes the one at Home Depot is definitlely a thumbs up. It beats Dampa re: parking and ambience. Hehe.

I have updated the post with your inputs.

    Come visit again!

[...] In my Good Eats post, I had listed that for me the Best Crispy Sisig could be eaten at Gerry’s Grill. I had struck it out from the list later on in the part 2 of that post. The reason being, I was disappointed a few weeks ago with the sisig that I had eaten at Gerry’s Grill @ Blue Wave. The sisig they served was first of all - not sizzling - and second it wasn’t crispy at all. The chicharon bits sprinkled on top were more “makunat” (tough) than crispy. The pork half-cooked by the hot plate so it turned out really “malansa” (term used for fish smell). The experience was so bad for me that I swore to take it off my Good Eats list and so I did. [...]

    Hi Apples,

Have you tried the “Ineng’s” bbq eatery along
Dela Rosa St. in Makati? Basically it is behind the Federal restaurant in the Allied Bank building, and immediately after the walkway stairs near the Prince Plaza building. It is beside Pancake House and near Teriyaki Boy. My officemates are currently infatuated with it so most of our dinner involves going to Inengs. At 32 pesos a stick, two of their special barbecue is enough for hungry diners. My officemates wont keep on coming back if it is not good. :)

Downside is that seating is at a premium so I wont advise going there during meal breaks, and if you want something besides BBQ then the options would be very limited. It was not called Ineng’s barbecue for nothing. :)

    ciao!

    @Erin,

Really? It’s that good? I have had an Ineng’s leaflet on my drawer since last year (dunno how I got it) and pass by the branch in Jupiter. In fact, I think I did hear it was good. But no havent tried it. And I didnt know that there was one in Dela Rosa. Maybe I will drop by one of these days as its very near my office. I hope its as good as Aling Nene’s or Heaven’s. Thanks for the tip!
    :)

Im eating a takeout order as I am typing this. :)

I havent tried their regular bbq but the special one is always in our list. What I normally do is get 1 special bbq and 1 grilled premium sausage, and then 2 orders of rice. :D

It has been a while since I have been to beach house but I think this would be a good alternative.

    ciao!
