Yummy Silvanas
I am a certified chocoholic. I do not like desserts that are pale, pastel or white… well not when I have a choice. And most of the time I do not prefer it even when its the only choice. I do not like butter cake, white chocolate, sans rival, polvoron… and the like. So it was a surprise when I fell in love with the most awesome Silvanas from Nueva Ecija.
When it was first given to me to taste, I got a piece as I did not want to be rude. I set it aside on top of a paper tissue and thought - maybe someone will notice and try to ask to have it (bad!). The day went into night with this lonely piece of powdery white dessert still uneaten. So I took it (I wish!)… and took a bite… and closed my eyes. Hmmm… hmmm… Yummmy!
It tasted creamy, sort of buttery but not really. It was thin so before you even get hit by the ickiness of the buttery taste you find yourself craving for more. I did not mind that it left my fingers covered in crumbs and eventually my desk and clothes. I did not mind that it was not chocolate. I did not mind that it was dessert made mainly with butter which I love but not so much in its raw form.
I could not help but go back to get my tastebuds on more of this deliciousness. The next piece I got was still cool as the box where it came from was chilled at the pantry refrigerator.
Doubly Yummy! It was better chilled and best frozen.
These silvanas brought by my officemate is sold at Nueva Ecija (not sure where) and one large box which you see in the picture costs only P165. It contains A LOT of those silvanas. Too many to eat in one sitting. Trust me - Ive tried.
Good luck reading the name of the store… hmm. Maybe I should just go back and ask my team mate.
Ciao!

wow sarap naman nyan! yum yum
i have not seen that packaging but if it was bought from cabanatuan then ill see if i can buy you some when we go home for the long break.
if im not in the office then ask chris to text the name and location where it can be bought. but im going to charge you for it. hehehe.
btw, i think i saw some silvanas before being sold in sm makati before they renovated.
ciao!
@Erin
- Not sure where exactly it is bought and I cant really read the label. Plus I keep forgetting to ask my team mate. And thank you for buying me some (hint hint)… of kors you will not let me pay for it… right (hehe just kidding).
and if you ask here in the office i am the libre king. im always the first one who asks “libre?”. i think you and i are going to be good team mates, you will be the giver and i will ‘go out of my way to please you’ and be the receiver of free stuff. i would even endure the suffering and shame of gorging on free food. /lol
ciao!
@Erin
- Hahaha. You sound like most of my team mates… I think our office thrives on libre, although I havent been around other offices to even start comparing. Im just basing it on 8 years of experience. Yikes!
You would probably love to be part of our team, parati marami pagkain.
you cant beat the saying “the best things in life are free” and my personal favorite “ano ang pinakamasarap kainin? syempre un libre”.
i dont think i would like joining your team since i would have a lot of competition. here i am the king of the libre pile. hehehe.
ciao!
Hi!
Just happen to visit your blog!
I’m from Nueva Ecija and the yummy silvanas came from the Science City of Munoz…
Hi Liz! Thanks for the information. My friend who supplies us these has been in the States for some time. I can’t wait to eat them again though.
