Dining at Kitchen

My work best friend was the one who introduced me to Kitchen. It first appeared in Makati when Greenbelt 1 was renovated to make way for more dining establishments. Its theme, ambience, and funky approach to dining out was what attracted many Makati yuppies.

We found the food so good that we ate there almost every week. That was years ago, and my best friend has since then moved to Hongkong to become a pastry chef.

I am glad though that Kitchen has not lost its allure.

This is why my husband absolutely loved our Kitchen experience. So much so that he ordered two dishes! He ordered the “long story” which is a grilled sausage meal with stewed tomatoes and the “hot tomato” which is penne pasta in tomato sauce topped with pan-fried beef. He loved both of them and couldn’t help gushing about it.

Actually, I loved what he ordered too so I kept reaching out to take spoonfuls of his food. I ordered the “sourbill” which is duck cooked adobo style accompanied by rice and fried egg. Although the duck tasted great, the whole meal was too greasy that every time I swallowed I could feel the thud that the dish made as it hit my stomach.

Despite the fact that I was not able to finish my meal, I finished my husband’s so that made it worth it. There are still a lot more that Kitchen can offer so I will just order something else the next time I eat there.

    I love everything about Kitchen - oversized utensils, big servings on big plates platters, the pandan iced tea, the reasonable prices…

    But…;
    I got the tenderloin the last time and… I really didn’t like the sauce. Hehe.

    Ok, I’m craving for fried mozarella with cranberry sauce! :p

    - I warned ChrisH about the big servings - he still ordered 2 dishes! I also love the pandan iced tea!

    - Yep you should. The quality and taste of their dishes has never changed for me regardless of the branch I visit. :)
