Sugarhouse treats
I came across a lot of posts related to how truly delicious the cakes of Sugarhouse were. So when I was looking for a birthday cake for my kid - I thought I would give it a try.
So off we went to Megamall as that was the nearest place I knew that had Sugarhouse. I first went to the other equally well known bakeshops to see if something else catches my attention. Hmm… nothing different. I wanted different this time.
We trekked over to Sugarhouse and lo! there was a sign that greeted us saying “NEW! Rocky Road mudslide” cake. Imagine rocky road ice cream in a cake. I love chocolate, I love marshmallow, so obviously I love the combination (whether it was in ice cream, cake or otherwise).
I decided to buy that for my kid and the famous Sugarhouse concorde for my sweetie.
The Rocky Road mudslide was all I expected it to be… and so much more. The shiny chocolate frosting I assumed was ganache. It was so good, I was licking my fork until I got the last of it. 
The cake itself was made of moist chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. The marshmallow/s were embedded all over the cake that you will be able to eat one at every bite. It also had nuts scattered around - the nuts were made similar to peanut brittle and it gave the whole cake the final oomph.
Ahh, the concorde. I love the chocolate meringue topping the cake. It was made of sponge cake and because it wasnt chocolate, my husband wrinked his nose on it. But let me just say - the sponge cake was so soft and moist and it was not at all like most sponge cakes that leaves me reaching out for a glass of water. So although my husband would have preferred it to be made solely from chocolate, I loved it.
Now I know why there is such a buzz about Sugarhouse. Dont take my word for it though, I suggest you go out and try it for yourself.

This is absolutely unnecessary to get into a depression over missing a chocolate cake while being on an intense weight loss regime. Because the craving can be satiated with a whole choice of nut bars, that have got far fewer calories and sugar. While loosing weight can entail the minimal food intake, a variety of food supplements are there to keep you fit and healthy at the same time. Specially, diet weight loss supplements have least possible number of calories with all the essential nutrients like any good nutrition supplement.

i think there is a sugarhouse branch in dela rosa st, near inengs bbq, and another one in the second floor of glorietta near mcdo (and opposite KFC).
their cakes are really different but i find them too sweet. i think i lost my sweet tooth somewhere, sometime ago so my opinions are very biased.

Oh Sugarhouse has great desserts! These two are great but my all-time favorite is their Apple Pie. Oh so delicious! They serve it with a sprinkle of pwdered cinnamon, grated cheese and vanilla ice cream. Sweet indulgence!

- Yep I know about the Glorietta one. I used to frequent that during those days when I had lots of time to go out for lunch. You should try the concorde then as the cake isnt too sweet. Steer clear of the meringue though.

I havent tried their apple pie so I must make sure I do next time. Especially since ChrisH loves apple-pie.
I ate at Sugarhouse once (when they still had a branch at Robinson’s Manila). Hmmm… I got Beef Stroganoff - not so good. hehe. I guess its my fault for going to a place called Sugarhouse to eat meat. haha
Sugarhouse has been one of my favorites for many years. I do not only love their cakes but they give me ideas on how to package my baked goodies.

- I could have told you that! Hehe. But there are other dishes there that are good enough to eat but I suggest you try what they specialize in next time.

I like their chocolate chip cookies (double choco and otherwise). Has a buttery taste to it. On cakes, like the simplicity of Midnight.
M - I havent tried their cookies or the Midnight cake. It sounds delicious though. Now I have something to try the next time Im there.
all their cakes and dessert are superb! A must try! highly recommended are the midnight cake and chocolate truffle. yum-o!!!
