Triple Chocolate Mousse

Ever since my constant eating companion went AWOL on me (wink!), I have not gone out to eat at all. I mostly stayed at my desk and befriended the trusty microwave at the office pantry.

I guess I missed a lot during those bagged lunch days because I saw some new additions to the classic confections menu when I recently visited. This brown polka dot mini cake beckoned to me from the glass counter. I stooped to get a closer look at the tag… which said triple chocolate mousse. And the exact same words escaped my lips. I could not help but order it even if I was really bent on rekindling my relationship with the mango torte.

The mini mousse had 3 layers of yummy goodness wrapped in thick solid chocolate. The cake in itself was really nothing to gush about although it was delicious. What is really worth highlighting is the chocolate bar that surrounded it. I usually see chocolate pieces or bites on top of desserts or even sprinkled over but this one enclosed the whole thing. Also, it was not a thin layer as you can see in the picture below. I felt like I was eating a Hershey’s bar. I thought I would not be able to finish it because it was so full and rich with chocolate. But guess what? I did. Heehee.

Ohmigod, that looks sinful, beautiful and rich. I’m quite amazed. Wasn’t it too sweet? How much? Sugar-shock much? Hahahah…

    P.S.
I’ve been reading your blog for months now and this is my first time to leave a comment. Please post entries more often if you can. I have withdrawals when you’re not updating. :) I obviously love your blog.

Hey James! The triple chocolate mousse actually turned out not very sweet. If you are asking about the chocolate that was wrapped around it, well admittedly it was but that should not be surprising.

Thanks for being a regular reader and I will do my best to update more frequently. I actually have a long list of backlog entries that I just need to start uploading. I hope you don’t go hungry while I try to catch up. ;)

My Bug Life - It is indeed. I would recommend it though for those with major sweet teeth. If not, I will have to recommend Nono’s Oblivion instead. :)
