Fish & Co. Seafood in a Pan
Singapore has brought a lot of good things to our country. These include the latest and trendiest in fashion and accessories. Do you know that they also brought food?
Fish & Co opened its first branch in Singapore about nine years ago. It has since then expanded to the different countries around Asia including the Philippines.
The first time I ate at Fish & Co in Greenbelt 3 was when we were entertaining foreign clients. All I can remember was how good the calamari was and how exorbitant the prices were. It wasn’t a place that encouraged me to dine there frequently.
I was able to go back again to visit for a sort of counseling lunch that I had. It wasn’t the first choice that we had but the new pictures on their menu were so enticing that the choice was actually made for us.
We ordered the prawns fettuccini in mushroom cream sauce and one of their specialties - the New York Fish and Chips. The pasta was like any other mushroom cream sauce served in other restaurants except this one had very big prawns that went along with it. The taste was nothing extraordinary… but still good.
Now the New York Fish and Chips was another matter. It was white fish with parmesan cheese stuffing with lemon butter sauce and french fries. Imagine cutting into the fish and seeing the steam rise out of it. The fish and the cheese melted in your mouth that you couldn’t help but get one more bite. And one more bite. And just one more. One more?
Our stomachs were exploding as tried to finish all that was in our plates.
We took a break by answering a survey that they asked us to fill out. As we were figuring out whether to put a 3 versus a 4, a plate with a nice looking chocolate dessert was placed in front of us. I was quick to say they made a mistake but I was wrong. Apparently there was free dessert for those who cared to respond to their surveys. That was a great move I must say. And we really appreciated the delicious melt in your mouth chocolate mousse - that was really an ice cream cake. Yummy!
One thing I did not like about Fish & Co, was I thought the prices of their dishes were way expensive than they deserved to be. Admittedly, the food was very good but it still is a casual dining restaurant like a Fridays or Italianni’s type. The surroundings were casual so that shouldn’t be the reason for the price. The servings were enough for one person so that isn’t it. I guess I will never know why the dishes cost at least P400.
One thing is for sure, it would be a place that I would come back to when the wallets are full. It would not be a place I would deem one for special occasions and way too expensive for a regular friday lunch out.

You had me at Fish & Co., but lost me at 400. Haha!
Besides pasta, seafood is one of my favorite things to eat. Haha! Just the picture of the seafood pasta made me wanna go there and try it despite its price. Although I can cook my own seafood pasta recipe, dinning out is always worth the experience and leisure.
P.S. I’m not really a dessert person so, I won’t comment on it. Hehe!
Jigs - Katawa yon ah. You should go try it out even if its just one time. It is still worth the experience and the food is really good.
Awww youre not a dessert person?
Jigs - I saw a movie at Shang Cineplex and was rewarded with a Fish and Co coupon valued at 1 free Fish and Chips for a minimum of P750 purchase. Good deal considering that the dish costs around P400. I agree with ApplesH, the restaurant is definitely worth a try. Another option so as your meal would not be as costly is to order from the Kid’s Menu - Captain Hook is Fish and Chips for kids. Costs half the price.
Em - Thats a great idea - about ordering from the kids menu. Although I am really wary of trying it because I always remember a not so nice incident where I did try to order from the kids menu and they told me it was only for kids (of kors!)
Thanks for the tip Em Dy! Now, I’ll definitely go there to try it!
To ApplesH, don’t get me wrong, I DO eat dessert, I’m just bitter because I don’t bake! For reasons that I don’t want to bake and that I can’t bake. Haha! I only have a a handful of desserts that thankfully do not require baking!
Jigs - Glad to hear that coz desserts are good! And you dont have to bake to bake to enjoy them.
My girlfriend and I go to MoA every once in a while to eat out at Fish and Co.!
The fish and chips is just… too good for words. You got it right, the fish just melted in your mouth. YUM YUM YUM. Ok, Im drooling now. Boo.
We’ve also tried Rockefeller’s Fish and chips! Not as good, but cheaper by over 150. hehe
I’ll try it one of these days.
Me too. They allow it in Fish and Co, Italiannis.
benj - Haha. Glad we made you drool. But its true right… truly melt in your mouth.
Hmm Rockefeller’s.. haven’t tried that. Maybe I will soon.
Wyatt - Go ahead and tell us about your experience!
Em - I guess one thing that restaurants can do is offer a choice for a smaller portion. Something like a lunch portion which is offered in other restos but only during lunch. Does that make sense?
The calamares and Peanut empress dessert are great as well.
M - I love their calamares but on this visit it would be too much to have them. I will make sure to record my calamares eating experience when I go back there.
fish & co is one of my comfort food splurges (although the 20% discount from the bistro card helped before they changed their loyalty system). i love their fish & chips (original or new york) and their seafood platter 1 (good for 2) with calamares (grilled is the best!), prawns, mussels, grilled fish and rice/fries. YUM!!!
*blog hopped from projectmanila
chrissy - I didnt know that the bistro card was ever accepted there. If I had known I would have gone more times than I did.

My gf and I love eating at Fish & Co. We eat there like once or twice a week. They already know us. Haha. Our favorites are Shrimp and Pasta Salad, Soft Crab Salad and the famous Fish & Chips. I ask for a lot of Tartar sauce to go with my Fish & Chips while my gf have it with a lot of Lemon Butter sauce.
Carlo - Wow that is truly expensive dining.. but I can understand the love for Fish and Co and I can only say… I envy you!
I will give you a tip in here guys… order seafood platter or platter 2! it consists of 1 Grilled Fish, 6 Grilled Prawns, Grilled Calamares, Seafood Rice, Chips, 5 Mussells and a lemon for only P750. tell them to fry the fish and the calamares and there you go! FISH and chips style as well as the famous calamares too! fish and chips 400 + fried calamares 350 = 750… they will do it if you suggest it to them… because i work with them!
i mean worked…
server - so this is not part of the menu? thanks for the tip!
